| The following are
prohibited: • Spamming (sending unsolicited email or posting messages
to irrelevant UsetNet newsgroups that do not explicitly allow advertising, with references
to a site hosted on our servers)
• Sites containing pornographic material or sites which contain links to adult
sites, sites encouraging illegal activity or racism, sites providing instructions of
performing illegal activities.
• Violations and attempted violations of system & network security. Or any
type of tampering with the system with the purpose to inflict harm.
| You may read a shortened version of the Terms of
Service. This shortened version covers 99% of all problems we experience on our networks.
Please note however, that you are still responsible for the entire terms of service and
this shortened version is solely for your convenience. This in no way limits our rights.
There have been some misunderstandings regarding our terms of service so we are clarifying
them. Customers of ComNW are still responsible for the entire terms of service. This
document only intends to outline the major (and most commonly violated) items below. |
| MP3's |
| Mp3 files are only allowed if they are your own
work or if you have express, verifiable, permission to use copyrighted works online. If
your mp3\'s do not meet the above conditions do not put them on our servers. |
| Software "Backups" |
| So-called "backups" of your software,
such as copies of MS Windows, MS Office, Oracle, etc. This is not allowed on our servers.
This is because we have no way of knowing whether this is actually a backup of yours or an
attempt at hosting illegal software. |
| Movies (mpeg, divx, etc) |
| We do not allow copyrighted content on our
server. Whether this be a copy of the super bowl, a copy of Ocean's 11, or music videos or
anything else that is copyrighted it is not allowed. By the way, all of these items have
been found on our servers. |
| Adult Content |
| Anything that is interpreted as adult content is
not allowed. |
| Spam |
| Spam is not allowed. For our purposes spam is
defined as bulk unsolicited email. |
| Cgi-Based Message Boards. |
| We do not allow cgi-based message boards. They
are inefficient and can quickly grow out of control causing network problems. |

However, the 6 issues above are by far the most violated. Violation of any of these issues
constitutes deletion of the domain causing these problems. Some of our older customers may
remember that we use to send warnings when illegal content was found. This is not possible
anymore. Here is our new warning schedule. |
| Warning Schedule |
First Warning: When you upload illegal content you (or your clients) are knowingly
violating the terms of service. Therefore there is no need for a first warning.
Second Warning: There is no second warning,
the domain is deleted. You may recreate the domain, however if illegal content is found on
this domain again the domain will be blocked from our servers.
If we find content that is questionable and may or may not
violate the terms of service we will contact you. An example of a situation like this is a
band hosting their own music on our servers. However, you can avoid this step if you
notify us. If you are a band or if you are planning to upload a large amount of files that
is questionable please notify us before you upload so we are aware of the situation. This
will keep everyone happy.
In closing, I would like to thank those customers that keep
on top of their customers and help us from executing the terms of service. It is your
